Angeles Child Custody Dispute
Are you involved in a Los Angeles
Child Custody dispute? Los Angeles parenting education program benefiting young parents
“Young Parents, Bright Futures” is a program intended to provide those parents litigating child custody
disputes who are teenagers or who are in their early 20′s, a chance
to participate in a free parenting education program held at the courthouse.
This program is made available to the public and is a project of the Los
Angeles Center for Law and Justice in partnership with the Los Angeles
Superior Court. This project is made possible through a grant from the
Legal Services Trust Fund of the State Bar of California.
It’s really wonderful to have a Los Angeles Parenting Education Program
that specifically helps teens who become parents early in life. Young
Parents, Bright Futures allows parents between the ages of 13 and 24 years
of age and their families to take part in a free legal education program
intended to cover the following:
- A brief introduction by a Los Angeles Family Court Judge;
- A family law overview presented by the Teen LA Attorney;
- A chance to participate in a session on communication and co-parenting
skills by Family Court Services mediators;
- A resource fair, with community organization offering info, resources and
- An optional mediation session for co-parents who attend the program together
to help them resolve issues when they arise.
The new Los Angeles parenting education program offers young parents an
opportunity to get the help they may need to develop productive co-parenting
skills for the benefit of their children.
Young Parents, Bright Futures is available at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in downtown Los Angeles. The
parenting sessions are held on the 3rd Monday of each month from 8:30
a.m. until Noon. The program is offered in Room 233 in the Stanley Mosk
Courthouse located at 111 N. Hill Street, Los Angeles, California 90012.
