COVID-19 Precautions

COVID-19 Precautions

At Castellanos & Associates, APLC, we understand that the current public health emergency surrounding COVID-19 is of paramount importance. The health and safety of our clients and our surrounding communities are extremely important to us.

We understand that many of you may be coping with a challenging family law matter. We wanted you to know that we are closely monitoring the current situation related to COVID-19. Our office remains open, and we continue to monitor the courthouses for any scheduling changes pertaining to your case. During this time, we wanted to reiterate the steps we are taking to protect your health and safety so that we may continue to serve you.

Please understand that if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, difficulty breathing), or if you believe you have been exposed to the virus, please do NOT come to our office. You should also not go to the courthouse where your case is assigned. Instead, contact our office as soon as possible, so we can properly advise you (and the Court). Please note that a scaling down of operations began today at the Los Angeles Superior Court in Los Angeles County, which means that except for Restraining Order cases and true emergency hearings, your case will be continued. The Court is deciding each week, so please confirm with our office prior to your Court hearing. If you have any questions whatsoever regarding a family law case scheduled, you should contact us immediately for further instruction.

Meanwhile, we understand just how important it is to you that we continue to remain open so that we can continue to serve our surrounding communities. To do that, we want you to understand the precautions we are taking when you come into our office. For instance,

  • Please do not come to our office without having scheduled an appointment in advance.
  • We are continuing to wipe down high touch surfaces with disinfectant on a regular basis. This includes wiping down doorknobs, our reception area furniture, and furniture that is located in the conference room on a continuous basis throughout the day.
  • The office building is also disinfecting regularly all elevator buttons (on all floors and cars), bathroom knobs, bathroom faucets & the security desk. Soon the building will also have touch-free hand sanitizer dispensers in the building lobby and all elevator lobbies from the 6th to 12th floor.

Right now, we are asking YOU to take some basic precautions before coming into our office:
You should:

• If you are sick, as stated above, we are respectfully requesting that you do not come into the office and comply with the CDC’s recommendation to stay at home. We will instead schedule a telephone conference with one of our attorneys.
• Please wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before and after coming to the office.
• We also suggest that you monitor the website of the courthouse where your case is scheduled for any updates on closures before you head to any scheduled proceeding. For information related to closures at the Los Angeles Superior Court, please visit https://www.lacourt.org/.

As we continue to serve you during this time, please do not hesitate to call our office with any questions. In addition, please continue to monitor our Facebook and Twitter feeds for any related updates.
